Coming back with a vengeance for 2013, the Bendigo Golden Triangle Epic is on next weekend on Sunday the 28th of April. Read on below for information about the event, as well as the course familiarisation day that is being held THIS Sunday the 21st of April. Entries for the GT Epic are filling up quickly, and especially so if you want to get in on the 100 Miler, as there are only 50 spots available. If you haven’t already signed up for the 20/50/100/150km options, get cracking and head on over to Entry Zone to register online before Wednesday.

Situated around the Southern outskirts of Bendigo in Victoria, the Golden Triangle Epic has been a staple event on the race calendar since 2006, with its profile skyrocketing after it played host to the Australian Marathon Championships in 2009. Providing riders all sorts of pain and glory over the 100km distance, the Epic is surely deserving of its name, though is also a great way to see a bit of the Victorian Goldfieds. Due to popular demand, the race is back again after a 2-year hiatus. Choose the 20km, 50km, 100km or the brand new 100 Miler (150km!) loops depending on how much you hate your legs, though be prepared for some lip-smackingly good singletrack. We got involved in last years Bendigo Cycles 6 Hour event and can thoroughly recommend checking out the excellent riding on offer. The course is designed to appeal to all skill levels, though in typical Goldfields style the terrain is a good mixture of swoopy berms and nicely technical rock sections to keep the roadies on their toes!

Course Familiarisation Day
The GT Epic course will be centred around a 50km loop, which the 100km riders will lap twice, and the 100 miler riders will do thrice. The course preview ride will be held this Sunday for new riders and out-of-towners to familiarise themselves with the trail conditions and the overall course.
